Electrical Compliance Pack

Increase Electrical Safety Competence within your Organisation.

LearningLounge.com presents, The Electrical Compliance Pack. Designed to help you fulfil your duties under The Electricity at Work Regulations and The Health & Safety at Work Act, regarding electrical safety.

As a manager or supervisor of a company, you are no doubt aware of your responsibilities under these Acts and Regulations to prevent accidents and injury to anyone that works for you, including those working on or near electrical systems.

It is these employees that have an increased risk of injury or death. It is therefore absolutely vital that everyone that comes into contact with electrical systems are competent, well trained and aware of their electrical responsibilities.

With the introduction of The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act, it is also essential to ensure that evidence of this training can be provided if an incident should occur.

Knowing Competence

Having a trained and competent workforce is a key component to help secure a safer workplace and ensuring quality goods and services.

“Knowing Competence” starts by defining competence and relating it to activities and tasks. It explains the legal requirements for a competent workforce and then looks at competence in practice.

A detailed step by step look at a typical competence management system is then undertaken. Giving practical guidance to those who wish to implement their own system, or verify that an existing one is fit for purpose.

Electricity at Work

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 place statutory responsibilities on the Employer, Employee and the Self Employed with regards electrical safety.

This training explores the theory behind the Regulations, the practical implications and explores the key Regulations and how Duty Holders must comply with them. Key areas include the procedures for working on equipment made dead and considerations for when it is, or is not acceptable to work on or near live electrical equipment.

The training also demonstrates a best practice safe isolation procedure.

Electricity at Work: Refresher

This training is intended for those who have already undertaken the full Electricity at Work, Electrical Compliance Pack course. It is targeted at those people who work on or near electricity during maintenance tasks or installation work.

The full Electricity at Work Course should be revisited every few years, or if failure in good practice indicates an urgent need to reinforce understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations.

Safe Isolation Procedures

This course is focused on the most critical task which must be undertaken when working on equipment which has been made dead – Safe Isolation. It is recognised by the HSE that most incidents where a practitioner has been injured; often fatally, have been caused by a lack of a safe system of work.

This training is absolutely essential to help reduce the risk to all electrical practitioners or task competent personnel and widens the scope of the topic from the overview found in the other Electrical Compliance Pack videos.

Portable Appliance Testing

This course is intended to provide an overview of the theory and practice of portable equipment testing, which is a safe system of work complying with the maintenance requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations, Regulation 4, Part 2.

This course is intended for people who have an understanding of electrical principles, and protection for safety as detailed in the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, BS 7671. Additional materials, outside the scope of the Electrical Compliance Pack, are available on learninglounge.com to help provide the foundation knowledge required to undertake this role.

Electrical Equipment User Checks

This training is intended for those who have already undertaken the full Electricity at Work, Electrical Compliance Pack course. It is targeted at those people who work on or near electricity during maintenance tasks or installation work.

The full Electricity at Work Course should be revisited every few years, or if failure in good practice indicates an urgent need to reinforce understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations.

The Safety of Machinery

Purchasing new equipment or machinery for your workplace is more than just about clicking the buy button! How will it integrate with existing systems? What safety hazards will it introduce? Which employees will it affect? Will they need additional training? organisations.

Does the equipment meet the required safety standards and certification; will it affect your existing workplace risk assessments?

All of these topics are examined in detail in this training course filmed in a food production factory.
